Specific funding for key policy initiatives has been around for some time and with Lord Darzi due to report in the summer it is highly likely that there will be further opportunities for Trusts and PCTs to bid for funds.
Timescales for bids will inevitably be tight and bid requirements are often developed along the way. There have however been enough initiatives to date to identify what will be needed. Successful bids will be clear, costed, affordable to the local health economy, have vision, show very clearly the benefits that will be delivered and how the proposal will assist in the achievement of targets and improving services.
