New fund sets sail
Thanks to the generous donation from healthcare company Inventures, UKSA ran two weeks worth of fully funded yachting courses for disabled individuals last October. The UKSA’s Spirit of Inventure fund supports disabled children and adults through financial support and sailing and watersports activities at UKSA. Those who took part have disabilities ranging from severe learning difficulties to physical disabilities, they sailed aboard one of UKSA’s fleet of yachts, UKSA Freedom, and benefited from UKSA’s fully trained instructors and the Academy’s extensive disabled facilities. Some participants joined the yacht for a day sailing trip in the Solent and while others took a 3-day trip aboard to experience some more adventurous sailing and living conditions.
